Commissioned to design new classroom prototypes to accommodate 21st century needs and requirements. Originally designed and built in the mid-sixties by Davis Brody, the classrooms had never been upgraded/updated. Incorporation of new technologies via access plenums; both horizontal & vertical, docking stations, interactive projectors and wall surfaces, improved acoustics, as well as advanced lighting, windows and shading devices for sustainability. Recycled rubber flooring was specified in lieu of carpeting for all the obvious reasons. At the time of implementation, the technology/brains for the place were so expensive, cameras and high security locks were deployed. One of the three closets were dedicated to computer equipment to manage the information and technology that was brought to bare.
